FAST TRACKS is a series of den meeting plans (two den meetings per month) designed to be used in conjunction with the youth handbooks. By following the prescribed den meeting plans as written, the boys will fulfill the requirements necessary to earn the badge of rank by early spring. Description
This list is for all Cub Scouts, Leaders, and anyone else involved or interested in Cub Scouting. This is a Kid-Safe list, so that Cub Scouts can also feel free to ask questions. Please do not subscribe if you cannot follow the rules.
It is hoped this list will be a source of information, answers and questions for everyone involved.List Rules:
1. NO Flaming privately or on the list.
2. NO obscenities or vulgarities
3.Remember kids can be reading whatever you write,
don't write anything you wouldn't want your Scouts to see.
4. No political topics or topics that could stir up the list (religion, race, sexual orientation etc.)
No Newsletter or newspaper postings unless they are to share something you or your Pack has achieved.No controversial websites.
Unless stated otherwise posters are giving their permission to use these posts in their unit publications and re-post for distribution to their unit members only.
However, posts are not to be forwarded to other e-mail lists without permission. Files, bookmarks and other such materials are not to be uploaded to other sites or lists without the express permission of the author/creator and then only with the original authors name listed.
New Members remain on moderated mail until they post a intro using a real name. However, if you continue to post without your name, you will be removed. Lurkers are always welcome! Bouncing members are removed monthly.

Get your new or reorganized Cub Scout Pack off to a great start. First impressions are important - and especially in Cub Scouting.
If the first few meetings are fun - for you and for the Cub Scouts - everyone will want to come back for more. And with a good start and everyone feeling enthusiastic, future meetings will get easier and easier.
The resources in the Pack’s First Three Months will give you the information for your position and help guide you through a fun and fulfilling beginning to you and your Scouts’ pack program.
Equally important to a good start is Cub Scout leader training.
If you haven’t already, take a look at Cub Scout Leader Fast Start for your volunteer ideas and needs before your first meeting.
Fast Start will complement the Pack’s First Three Months Guide by providing you with an idea of what Cub Scouting is all about and what happens at meetings.
You’ll also want to find out about Cub Scout Leader Basic Training, which will give you more insight into the wonderful world of Cub Scouting. Leader Specific Training consists of two components
New Leader Essentials, which is completed by all leaders, followed by
Position-specific training, based on your leadership position in the pack.
Take advantage of these and other training opportunities as soon as possible!

The passage from Cub Scout pack to Boy Scout troop should be smooth, with
no time lost
in between.
Boys 101/2 who have earned the Arrow of Light may join Boy Scouts.
The preferred month to graduate your Webelos to Boy Scouting is February.
This gives the boys time to meet with the troop March through June to prepare for Summer Camp.
The boys may return to the Pack for graduation ceremony at a later date.

It's a win-win for the boys, Pack, Troops and Parents!
The key factor to improved Webelos transition into Boy Scouting is the ongoing working relationship of the leaders of
a Cub Scout pack and
a Boy Scout troop.
